As for the weekend, the Valley is expected to see a high of 109°F on Saturday, and 110°F on Sunday. On both days, the forecast high is higher than the current record of 105°F. Meanwhile, an Excessive Heat Warning for the lower deserts of Arizona and southeast California has been extended to Monday evening. The warning covers the Phoenix area.

Excessive heat warning issued for Maricopa County
The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for Maricopa County starting at 5 a.m. Tuesday. The warning expires at 8 p.m. Friday. The heat warning also includes Pinal and La Paz counties. The weather service predicted dangerously hot conditions with afternoon temperatures ranging from 104 to 113 degrees.
