B&Q owner Kingfisher raised the lower end of its fiscal 2025 profit guidance above market expectations, after the B&Q owner posted higher earnings for the first half, despite weaker sales.

B&Q and Brico Depot owner Kingfisher lifted the bottom end of its annual profit outlook, saying that while demand for 'big-ticket' home improvements like kitchens and bathrooms remained weak, seasonal sales trends have improved since early July.

B&Q owner Kingfisher has revealed that its statutory pre-tax profits rose 2.3% to £324m for the six months ended 31 July 2024, up from £317m in the same period last year.

Kingfisher shares soared on Tuesday after it raised the bottom end of its annual profit guidance, noting improved seasonal sales trends despite continued weak 'big-ticket' demand.
