Japanese carmaker Nissan worked with Forsberg Racing to create the Tarmac, a highly modified and slammed Frontier pickup truck

Nissan is set to unveil its uniquely equipped Frontier TARMAC at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Created in collaboration with Nissan Motorsports, Forsberg Racing and Nissan Design America, the TARMAC revamps the Nissan Frontier PRO-X into a low-slung powerhouse built for the track.

To pull off the TARMAC’s slammed look, Nissan Motorsports developed a bespoke version of its prototype NISMO high-performance street suspension. The package includes adjustable coilover suspension in front, a flip kit, and C-notch in the rear.

Nissan turned the Frontier into a lowered street truck that adds a cold-air intake and supercharger to push power beyond 400 ponies.

At the 2024 SEMA show, though, Nissan spiced up its mid-size pickup truck by giving it a boost in power, an aggressive body kit, and a lower ride height. Dubbed the Frontier Tarmac Concept, this one-off truck is designed for style, performance, and drifting.

The announcements and teasers keep coming as we get closer and closer to the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas (Nov. 5-8). Nissan is the automaker we want to focus on here, with a one-off concept called TARMAC that embodies the spirit of slammed muscle trucks of the past.

Just as the Kicks is the American alternative to the Juke, the Frontier is Nissan’s mid-size pick-up truck, mirroring the Navara that was axed in the UK back in 2022. The Frontier Tarmac concept is a ‘street truck’, says Nissan, and is the result of a collaboration between Nissan Motorsports, Nissan Design America and Forsberg Racing.

Nissan has unveiled the Frontier Tarmac, a drift-ready concept based on the 2025 Frontier, at the 2024 SEMA Show. This transformation, led by Nissan Motorsports and racing legend Chris Forsberg, reimagines the Frontier as a high-performance machine tailored for the track.

Nissan is bringing three new builds to SEMA 2024 including a supercharged Frontier and both lifted and lowered versions of the Kicks.
