Some fans think that a trade involving D'Angelo Russell is close basing off of the Lakers guard's social media activity.

On Monday evening, Russell posted on X (formerly Twitter) an emoji of someone holding back tears while smiling. This social media post has made some fans wonder if something could be about to go down in terms of a trade.

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived their summer signing, the undrafted Blake Hinson. The former two-way player will now roam as a free agent in hopes that a team will call his number and give him a chance to play professional basketball this year.

It looks more and more like the Lakers' preference is to use starting point guard D'Angelo Russell as trade bait to address one of their roster needs.
