CitizenCon 2024 is a fan event by Cloud Imperium Games and was created to celebrate Star Citizen. The first convention happened in 2013 when the game entered early access. Back then, developers promised Star Citizen would come out in 2014.

The ongoing spectacle that is Star Citizen's development has apparently resulted in Cloud Imperium mandating crunch for its employees, a new report alleges.

For a game that's still technically in pre-release early access, Star Citizen has amassed a large following and its own annual convention, CitizenCon. But even though the full release isn't on the horizon, Star Citizen's developer, Cloud Imperium Games, is reportedly forcing its employees to work seven days a week through CitizenCon.
