President Yoon Suk Yeol said Thursday South Korea and the Czech Republic will collaborate on the design and construction of nuclear reactors if the Central European country picks a Korean consortium as the final winner for a nuclear power plant.

South Korea is confident it can overcome any obstacles to a multibillion dollar project to build a nuclear plant in the Czech Republic, despite appeals against the deal launched by EDF and Westinghouse, President Yoon Suk-yeol has said.

During his four-day visit, Yoon will hold talks with Czech President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala to expand cooperation in nuclear energy, trade, investment, technology and other areas.
