A Catholic woman who refused to comply with her employer’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for religious reasons has been awarded nearly $13 million in damages from a religious discrimination suit.

In her religious excemption request, Lisa Domski wrote that taking the vaccine “would be a terrible sin and distance my relationship with God.”

The Wyandotte woman had worked at Blue Cross for 32 years and was denied a religious accommodation to the insurer's vaccine mandate for employees.
